Our Local Food Map
About Our Local Food Map
The Chattanooga Food Center's local Food Map contains information on area farms, farmers markets, food artisans, community gardens, and restaurants sourcing local food - all within a 150 mile radius of our flagship Gaining Ground Grocery, located at 1918 Union Ave, in Downtown Chattanooga.
The 150-Mile Area Foodshed
We call this 150 mile radius area our "foodshed," much like a watershed. Our foodshed includes Southeast Tennessee, Northwest Georgia, and Northeast Alabama. The CFC created and manages this map as a bridge between local eaters and the rich bounty of local food that our region has to offer. It's our mission to increase access to local food, and that's easier to do when you know how to find it!
Who’s On the Map
The Food Map contains local farms of all kinds, whether they grow conventionally, certified humane, organically or anything in between. We want to provide you with the information to make food decisions that are right for your family, your health, and your budget.
Note on Food Artisans and Restaurants
The Food Map relies on restaurants and food artisans to honestly disclose their use of local food products. Food and beverage artisans craft their product in our 150-mile radius. Some use exclusively local products, while others don't. Restaurants listed in the Food Map purchase from local farms and/or food and beverage artisans. Please reach out to local food artisans and restaurants directly with any questions.
